John and Carol Gore

John and Carol GoreJohn and Carol Gore were raised in Sydney, Australia and married in 1969. A year later they emigrated to Canada for 5 years where Carol was Administration and Personnel Director for an international company. John headed up the Electrical Engineering Department for a company that designed and manufactured complex automated conveyor systems.

In 1975 they heard the call of God to pastoral ministry and left Canada to pursue nine months of bible school training at two Capernwray Torchbearers Schools in Europe; Bodenseehof, Germany and Capernwray, UK. Upon returning to Australia, John was accepted by the NSW Baptists and commenced ministerial training in 1977. He completed his theological training in 1980 and graduated from Morling Theological College Sydney with a Bachelor of Theology degree. He was ordained in 1981.

John and Carol then pastored Baptist churches throughout NSW, Australia and had the pleasure of seeing them grow through conversion growth. During this time they also spent two periods on staff as lecturers at Bodenseehof Bible School, Germany; an international English speaking school which draws students from many areas of the world. It was while they were in Germany that John found he had an affinity with African students and that they were drawn to him. A desire to train pastors in the less developed areas of Africa began to grow and it became obvious that this was from God.

After a number of miraculous divine appointments, John travelled to Burundi in September 2002 to meet with some of the local church leaders and, as a result of that, started training pastors in Bujumbura in May 2004.

John’s and Carol’s experience of living in different cultures and being exposed to various denominational groups – including involvement with Evangelical and Pentecostal churches – plus their years of pastoral experience, have placed them in good stead for this ministry. They have four wonderful adult children who love and serve God.
